there and away: There are daily flights from Shanghai and Beijing to Guiyang,
the capital city of the Province. From Shanghai, the flight costs RMB1280 (approximately
2 .5 hours) and from Beijing, RMB1380 (2-3 hours) one way- economy class. Suggested
Itinerary for Guizhou The Suggested itinerary is NOT a round trip, but a route
lasting 7/8 days and takes you on to Guilin in Guangxi province, from where there
is onward transport to most destinations in China, including Hong Kong. Day One:
Fly to Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province. Take an airport shuttle bus to the
railway station and stay at the Sport Hotel (Standard room RMB168). Buy your train
ticket from Guiyang to Kaili for the following day and then take bus No.1 on a
city tour. For dinner, visit Jiandao Jie and sample the traditional Guizhou specialties.
Day Two: Take train No.248 at 7:50am (RMB16) to Kaili. The train arrives at around
11am. Take a minibus from here downtown and stay at the Yingpanpuo Minority Hotel
(RMB80). Wander around Kaili in the afternoon, a good spot to be based for exploration
deeper into the region. Day Three£ºIn the early morning take a minibus heading
to Yudong or Longchang and get off at Matang. Walk to GE Village and explore this
little visited town. From here, head on to Yudong and visit the limestone caves.
Head back to Kaili in the evening.Day Four: In the morning take a minibus to Leishan
and get off at Delangxia, a typical Miao village. Here, you can watch the Miao
song and dance performance and take lunch in the village. In the afternoon, take
the same minibus and go to Leishan, where you should take another bus to Xijiang
Thousand Family Village, with impressive and unusual architecture, where you can
find basic accommodation for the night. Day Five: After breakfast, leave the village
and take a bus back to Leishan, where you should take another bus on to Rongjiang
(RMB30). After checking in at the Qingfeng Hotel (RMB50) by Rongjiang Bridge,
take some time to explore the village. In the evening, visit Chejiang Village
and the Dong people that live there. Day Six: Leave Rongjiang and head south to
Congjiang (RMB15). Check in at the Tenglongge Hotel (RMB60). In the afternoon,
visit Basha Village and the Miao people. Return to Congjiang in the evening. Day
Seven: In the morning take a motorcycle (RMB2) to Gaozeng Village, 10km from Congjiang.
Visit Fengyu Bridge and the large drum in the center of this Miao village. From
here, head on to Xiaohuang Village and hear the traditional singing of the Miao
who live here. Return to Congjiang in the evening. |
